The triangle choke is a blood choke that restrains blood flow to the carotid arteries by locking up the opponent’s neck and arm with a figure-four lock of the legs. Although this requires a figure-four leg lock, the form of the choke resembles a triangle, hence the name triangle choke.
From guard:
- Hip out to one side and trap far arm
- Slip the closest arm through
- On the same side, bring your leg up and place it behind their neck so
that it is perpendicular
- Lock your other leg behind the knee
- Stretch the far arm towards you
- Push their head down as you bring your hips up
